Thomas Paine: Legacy CIC (TPL) is established to advance the education of the public on the legacy of Founding Father Thomas Paine and his ongoing impact on democracy around the world.
TPL takes its central purpose from Paine’s example, reminding us that we have it in our power to shape our societies for the better and challenging us to consider how we might “begin the world over again” (Common Sense, 1776). In a time of increasing economic and social uncertainty and political polarization, TPL will seek to strengthen social bonds, nurture creativity and foster active citizenship.
